SUMMARY:Consent Lab - train your consent muscle
DESCRIPTION:Consent Lab - train your consent muscle \n\nSich der eigenen G
 bi\, pan\, trans*\, non-binary\, genderqueer\, -fluid\, queer\, questionin
 bt in Berlin.\n\nwww.jespajacobsmith.com\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\ncopyright Vict
or Luque\n\n------\n\n\nConsent Lab – Train Your Consent Muscle\n\nBeing
aware of your own boundaries and expressing your consent or lack of conse
nt are important life skills. But we often have little opportunity to prac
tice the skill of consent in the same way we practice singing\, playing sp
orts\, or learning a language. Yet it often involves much more than simpl
y saying "yes" or "no."\n\nThe Consent Lab is a place for practice and exp
loration: We listen within ourselves to understand and feel the nuances—
so that even with a "maybe\," we can make a decision that feels right to
 us. Through conversations\, movement\, and partner exercises\, we'll pract
 ice expressing and negotiating desires\; through hands-on exercises\, we'l
l set boundaries and explore "friction" in the nervous system. How can we
stay true to ourselves even in moments of dissonance?\n\nI'll also provide
you with theoretical insights into the nervous system\, regulation\, and
the subtle distinction between needs and desires. You're invited to partic
ipate at your own pace\, take breaks\, and be present in whatever way feel
s right for you at the moment. You can come once or more often. Bring care
and curiosity with you. &#x1f642\;\n\nThe Consent Lab takes place once a
month\; you can speak in German or English. The process will always be som
ewhat similar\, giving you the opportunity to explore and practice your o
wn strategies— repeatedly\, if you'd like. Different people may bring o
ut different reactions in you.\n\nThere will be a maximum of 12 participan
ts.\n\nMy events are queer-centered but open to everyone. Queer-centered m
eans focusing on the well-being of all people whose gender identities\, ro
mantic\, and/or sexual orientations do not conform to the "mainstream" and
who identify\, for example\, under the umbrella term LGBTIQA+: lesbian\,
 gay\, bi\, pan\, trans*\, non-binary\, genderqueer\, gender-fluid\, queer\
 , questioning\, inter*\, asexual\, aromantic\, agender...\n\nI expect part
icipants to show mutual respect and treat one another with care. I assume
that you have already engaged with the diversity of identities and social
power dynamics on a basic level and have a fundamental understanding of co
nsent. My understanding of consent draws\, among other sources\, on Betty
Martin's Wheel of Consent (https://bettymartin.org/) and Kai Cheng Thom's
concept of Loving Justice (https://ariseembodiment.org/).\n\nIf you're not
sure whether the Consent Lab is right for you or need a little more infor
mation to help you decide\, feel free to contact me directly at hey@jespaj
 acobsmith.com\n\nI look forward to seeing you!\n\nJespa\n\n\nJespa (he/him
\, no pronoun) is trained in Sexological Bodywork and Somatic Coaching (IS
B Berlin)\, among other things\, and explores the world through bodywork a
 nd art. As a performance artist\, author\, dramaturg\, curator\, activist\
, and "Curiosity Coach\," he has been creating moments and spaces for conn
 ection for 20 years—through texts and films\, exhibitions\, performances
\, and direct contact with clients. He lives in Berlin.\n\nwww.jespajacobs
